Waterproofing

Waterproofing

Waterproofing systems are deigned to prevent water from penetrating the building envelope and causing structural damage, mold growth, and material decay. Effective waterproofing is essential for areas that are prone to wet conditions or have issues with water accumulation. Several types of waterproofing materials are available, each with unique properties and applications.
  • – Membrane Waterproofing
    1. o Sheet-Based Membranes
    2. o Liquid-Applied Membranes
    3. o PMMA (Polymethyl Methacrylate)
  • – Bituminous Membrane Waterproofing Systems
  • – Traffic Coating
    1. o Polyurethane Liquid Membrane Waterproofing
    2. o Deck Membrane/Waterproofing

Membrane Waterproofing

Membrane waterproofing is a method of protecting structures from water infiltration by applying a waterproof membrane to the surface acting as a barrier, preventing water from penetrating the structure and causing damage.

Sheet-Based Membranes – include bituminous, plastic, or rubber sheets that are applied to the surface which are effective for roofs, basements, and under tiled areas.

– Liquid-Applied Membranes – are applied as a liquid that cures to form a rubbery coating on the surface, they are flexible and can be used on irregular shapes and surfaces.

PMMA – liquid applied membranes which coat and sure to form seamless, durable, and waterproof layers on flat or low-slope roofs. PMMA roofing membranes offer excellent weather resistance, UV stability, and flexibility.

Bituminous Membrane Waterproofing Systems

Bituminous membrane waterproofing systems are versatile and reliable solutions for protecting buildings from water infiltration. These systems use bitumen, a sticky and viscous substance in the form of sheets or rolls and create a durable and flexible barrier against water ingress.

Traffic Coating

Traffic coating is a specialized protective material applied to concrete surfaces that are subjected to vehicular and pedestrian traffic, where the surface experiences frequent use and exposure to environmental elements. The primary function of traffic coating is to protect the underlying concrete from wear, moisture intrusion, chemical spills, and other deteriorating factors.

Polyurethane Liquid Membrane Waterproofing – is sensitive to moisture content, so it’s application is favoured on roofs and areas exposed to weathering.

Deck Membrane/Waterproofing – is a special material used to protect elevated outdoor surfaces such as decks, balconies, walkways, and rooftops from water damage. Deck membranes create a waterproof barrier that prevents water infiltration, protects the underlying structure, and extents the lifespan of the surface.
